Hi, I’m Matthew.
I’m a Canadian-Australian indigenous professional with ancestry from the Haida and Stó:lō Nations, of Old Massett Village and Matsqui Village respectively. My maternal side is indigenous Canadian-Scottish-English, and my paternal side is Australian-German-Polish-English. I was born and raised on the unceded traditional territories of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose living relationship with the land continues to this day. I grew up in the pretty city of Victoria, British Columbia, and spent many months in the northeastern Australian state of Queensland. It is amazing that you are here now, that affinity has led to this connection.
Three years ago I was first exposed to Peak States Therapy as a client. From the 8 years of counselling I had been through beforehand working on depression, generalized anxiety, overwhelm, panic attacks, I had been doing quite well for two or three years prior. However, in just a few short sessions working with a Peak States Therapist, I was able to eliminate deep, lifelong sadness, negative core beliefs, and diminish self-criticism and negative self-talk in very significant ways. I had to know what this therapy was! So I began taking the therapist certification 🙂
I was called away from my rewarding and useful job at Royal Roads University to transform my life and integrate lessons of wisdom and help others integrate themselves. Trauma therapy, coaching, facilitating workshops, teaching Taoist wisdom, instructing music lessons, doing men’s work, and deep meditation are some of my interests today. My B.Sc. in Music & Computer Science from the University of Victoria was useful for freelance AV work as well. Today I help people receive the massive benefits from ISPS Trauma Therapy (AKA Peak States Therapy/Subcellular Psychobiology) that has so massively changed my life and my capacities.
I have to thank the many mentors, teachers, and family members for every moment they have spent guiding and giving to me. I am here because of you (love you Mom and Dad), and the energy you have given to me is amplifying others. Thanks to Buddha, my Sangha, and those in the Dharma.
Haw’aa! Thank you. Please book a session get in touch if you are interested in working together! – Matthew
